SDCL's Volunteer of the Year 2010
Germán Gutierrez
Germán is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and Cornell University. He has lived in San Diego with his wife Susan and two sons Christian and Daniel for the past 25 years. He worked at a number of IC design companies in San Diego and Orange County. His most recent company is Centellax in which he was a founder and director. Germán currently works as an electrical engineering consultant and as an expert witness.
Germán volunteers at the Vista Branch helping with ESL and with computer instruction (bilingual). He finds that one-on-one instruction provides an evaluation of the areas that people need to work on and it is a good time to explain some basic rules of the language.
