Supervisor Bill Horn, the San Diego County Board of Supervisors, Bonsall Union School District, and the San Diego County Library are hosting a Ribbon Cutting Celebration for the new 24/7 Library To Go on Wednesday, May 28 at 9 a.m. at the Bonsall Community Center (31505 Old River Rd). The celebration will include remarks by Supervisor Horn, Library Director José Aponte, and Bonsall Union School District Superintendent Justin Cunningham. In addition, attendees will enjoy performances by Bonsall Elementary School's music class and guitarist Kevin Rones, refreshments, and an opportunity to get a library card and try out the new 24/7 Library To Go.

The 24/7 Library To Go kiosk provides self-service access to library materials 24/7 and offers hundreds of books and movies for children and families, and even has WiFi. It's all free with a library card; sign up by visiting www.sdcl.org and pick it up at the bookmobile or any County Library branch.

"I am an avid reader and I think the only thing better than a library is 24 hour access to one any day of the week," said Supervisor Horn. "This new Library To Go offers Bonsall residents access to endless stories and adventures without ever leaving their own community."

In 2013, SDCL became the first library on the west coast to install one of these kiosks, which resides at the County Operations Center in Kearny Mesa. Now the library is using this new technology to provide service to areas of the County that currently go without.

"An increase in circulation, program attendance, and library visitors has called for creative and innovative solutions to do more with less," said Director Aponte. "Through this partnership approach to funding, we're able to offer self-service solutions that empower both customers and staff."
