BONITA-SUNNYSIDE LIBRARY HOSTS FIRST TALENT SHOW

August 18, 2012

Singers, dancers, acrobats and anyone with a special talent are encouraged to sign up and perform at the first annual talent show at the Bonita-Sunnyside Library, 4375 Bonita Rd. The event is taking place on Saturday, October 6 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will feature separate competitions: one for people 17 and under, and one for 18 and over. Participation is free, lunch will be provided for the competitors, and fabulous, or at least really cool, prizes will be awarded. This event is not for professionals, but for people who have been refining some interesting talent, and are ready to share it with the world! It will be judged by a panel of distinguished community members.

There is a selection process before performers are invited to compete. Performers must submit a CD, DVD, link to a YouTube video, or other documentation, which will be reviewed by the talent show staff. The deadline for submitting these is September 15. Please bring them to the library, or send the link to the email address below.

Lucia Butler, one of the talent show staffers, comments, "Talent shows are designed to highlight the hidden talents of regular people, and bring the community together. We're sure there are a lot of secretly great performers in San Diego County - we want to see you shine."

We need spectators too - no registration necessary for that! Please come and cheer on the contestants.

Interested parties must sign up by September 15 by contacting Eric Jones at the Bonita-Sunnyside Library at (619) 475-4642 or bonitalibrarytalentshow2012@yahoo.com.
