Commission on Children, Youth and Families - CCYF

About CCYF

The Commission on Children, Youth and Families (The Commission) was formed by the Board of Supervisors in 1986. Its specific task is to identify and address the needs of children, youth and families in San Diego County who are in the public charge or at risk.  In addition to this charge, the Commission also works to strengthen families and achieve better outcomes for children of all ages and at all stages of development.

The mission of the Commission is to advise the Board of Supervisors on policy affecting the well being of children, youth and families.  Through advocacy and leadership, each San Diego child will reach his or her full potential by growing up in a family, school, and community that is safe, healthy and nurturing.

The overall goal of the Commission and its Committees is to promote healthy families and protect children of all ages.
