THE WEB PROVIDES USEFUL INFORMATION IN MANY FORMATS. WE HAVE INCLUDED THE FOLLOWING INTERNET SOFTWARE THAT WE FEEL OPTIMIZES OUR DEVELOPMENT EFFORTS. ACROBAT is one of the prominent supported NETSCAPE viewers of preformatted documents e.g. WP, Lotus and Word to name a view. The mechanics behind creating formatted documents in Acrobat format is relatively simple. A document is created in word processing format and then at PRINT time routed to an ACROBAT printer configured by the ACROBAT developer resulting in an ACROBAT document with the file extension of .PDF. e.g "agenda.pdf" The County of San Diego has at this time has chosen ACROBAT as it's standard for formatted documents. Whenever you see the ACROBAT logo or a document with the file extension PDF, the viewer must be installed. This software is free of charge for viewing only. ACROBAT and a newer version called AMBER (more versatile) are PLUG-INS for any of the advanced browsers such as NETSCAPE or MICROSOFT EXPLORER. If you do not have either of these industry standard setting BROWSERS, check your documentation. These viewers are available for both the PC and MAC environment and are available to download here.
To install the ACROBAT VIEWER follow these easy step-by-step instructions.
