Agriculture, Weights and Measures managers helped to promote uniform standards across state and local jurisdictions at the National Conference on Weights and Measures (NCWM) Interim Meeting Jan. 19–22 in Albuquerque. The NCWM is the standards development organization for weights and measures regulatory agencies in states, counties and cities across the United States. Governmental officials, as well as representatives of business, industry, trade associations and consumer organizations met to discuss, debate and address commerce and weights and measures-related matters. To promote uniform standards among state and local jurisdictions, participants worked together to discuss possible future regulation. A major objective of NCWM is to foster understanding and cooperation among regulatory, industry, business and consumer interests.
